Windows Live ID association with Domain Account – Windows 8
July 23, 2013 2 Comments
This call relates to a domain account that requires a Windows Live ID for adding to multiple devices – for example a domain joined laptop wants to sync with a Windows Surface RT and a Windows 8 phone.
The Windows 8 phone and Surface RT are unable to be domain-joined and can only login with a Live ID, so by associating your domain account with a particular Windows Live ID you are able to have a seamless interface between the 3 devices.
This is particularly effective for mobile users and people who enjoy a similar interface regardless of device.
On trying to verify the account you receive the message –
“We were unable to send you an email. Try again later.”
The only solution is to close the live account and recreate the account with the same Live ID this is caused by activation email limits – so when not receiving the email you request another, etc. This then locks the account to receiving the mail and causes issues with activation.
There is a reason why we’re a managed services company – we can help you fix those problems!
