Stopping TaskManager Service – without TaskManager

I recently had an issue where I was unable to open Task Manager – I say open – it was open and the icon was showing me CPU use etc but I couldn’t see the window to check a service.

In order to resolve this you basically have to kill the task. How do you do this without Task Manager, right?

Open an elevated command prompt and type the following command;

TASKKILL /F /IM taskmgr.exe /T

Once you have done this – run the task manager again and you should be able to navigate as normal through Task Manager.

Hope this helps
